Wavetrend offers a range of fixed or mobile reader infrastructure solutions as part of our open-platform active RFID product range to ensure that you can identify or locate tagged assets wherever you need to at the lowest possible cost. Our readers natively support Serial/RS232, Ethernet and Wireless LAN data communications, while offering our customers options for using Bluetooth or GSM/GPRS to acquire RFID data from both fixed and mobile readers.

RX201 - RS232/485 Reader

The popular RX201 - RS485 / RS232 Readers detect Wavetrend's Activ™ and ActivDuo™ ranges of active RFID tags. This remotely configurable reader connects to the host PC, edge server or intelligent hardware controller via RS232, RS485 or TTL and can be used singly, or networked together. It offers a connection for an external antenna. Wavetrend recommends the PS300 power supply be used to power RX201 reader networks. The RX201 is also available in a short range (proximity) version, the RX201-PR.

RX300 - Serial Port Reader

The RX300 Serial Reader detects Wavetrend's Activ™ and ActivDuo™ ranges of active RFID tags within its omni-directional read range (approximately 5 – 8m). It connects directly to an available serial port on a computer or intelligent hardware controller. A Serial/USB converter may also be used with this reader if no serial ports are available. An OEM verison (RM300) is available on enquiry for integration into suitable products such as mobile computing devices, PDA's and Hand Held Terminals.

RX900 - Ethernet PoE Reader

The award winning RX900 – Ethernet PoE Readers detect Wavetrend's Activ™ and ActivDuo™ ranges of active RFID tags. This remotely configurable reader connects to the host PC, edge server or intelligent hardware controller via an Ethernet LAN and has a unique MAC or IP Address to provide reader location ID for RTLS applications. The reader supports Power over Ethernet and offers a connection for an external antenna. The reader can be ordered without the standard power supply (RX900-NPS) when PoE switches will be used to power the readers on the LAN. It supports both DHCP and fixed IP addressing and the 256-bit AES encryption standard. Two relay outputs and two inputs are provided as standard for ancillary device control and monitoring.

RX1000 - WLAN Reader

The RX1000 – Wireless LAN Readers detect Wavetrend's Activ™ and ActivDuo™ ranges of active RFID tags. This remotely configurable reader connects connects to the host PC, edge server or intelligent hardware controller via an available 802.11b/g Wireless LAN and has a unique MAC or IP Address to provide reader location ID for RTLS. It offers a connection for an external antenna and also comes supplied with a WLAN antenna and power supply. The reader supports all common WLAN encryption protocols, DHCP and fixed IP addressing and 256-bit AES encryption standard. Two relay outputs and two inputs are provided as standard for ancillary device control and monitoring.
