Wavetrend’s active RFID solutions provide unprecedented real-time visibility for the tracking and monitoring of server racks within a data centre, portable devices such as laptops as they are transported between zones.

For asset tracking and tracing throughout a site, Wavetrend’s readers are strategically positioned within various zones to achieve complete monitoring of the entire facility. As assets are transported within a zone or between zones, the active RFID tags communicate data on their movement when read by stationary readers. Collected data is then relayed to the software so that it can be interpreted and acted upon by systems administrators. Individuals or groups of individuals can be authorised to carry out maintenance tasks and move allocated assets by the system which then monitors compliance with the authorised tasks, alerting on any non-compliance detected.

Add-on features provide alerts on the status of assets for a variety of set conditions. Real-time alerts include:

• Assets crossing zones.
• Notification of temperature change in a zone.
• Unauthorised movement of an asset from its assigned room or area.
• Asset Check-In/Check-Out rules not adhered to
